Peripheral ossifying fibroma-Case report

Peripheral ossifying fibroma is a reactive lesion arising from periodontal cells in response to local irritation with females second decade of their life are more affected and maxillary anterior region predilection. Clinical appearance erythmatous or pink colour large lesions generally smooth. Lesion usually not exceed 1.5 cm. Underlying bone sometimes shows loacalized erosion. Treatment involves exicision the histopathological examination. Chances recurrence after complete removal higher. 19 year old female patient came complain swelling gingiva at 43 44 clinical examination reveal 1cm × smooth surface radiographic showing localized loss. After phase 1 therapy, exision was performed excised tranferd 10% formalin for immediately. Hyperplastic stratified parakeratinized epithelium connective tissue stroma havind osteocytes osteoblasts cementum like material lead diagnosis Ossifying Fibroma(POF). POF third most common gingival lesion. Histopathological require confirms diagnosis.
